It was still daylight on June 13th when the work was in motion, yet the event was called "Evening Stars," a two week series of performances staged at the World Trade Center just months before its demise. There Joseph J. Fogarazzo of Rigor Sardonicous and Dimentianon fame became involved with a moment that has become a permanent inspiration.
The master arranger of the modern-day guitar ensemble, Glenn Branca(www.glennbranca.com), opened the series with staging the premier of his daring and intricate piece, Symphony #13 "Hallucination City." With Joseph being one of eighty guitarists performing in all different tunings and being joined by twenty bassists, a trip-out it most definitely was.
Joseph became involved with the project, through working with Phil Kline on his ongoing Christmas album series Unsilent Night. Always walking on the civilized side of darkness, Joseph is ever grateful for Kline opening the pathway to a project he describes as "an evil swarm of angry hornets bent on the decimation of man."
The experience has remained inside of Joseph as alive and powerful as its original moment and now there's the thrill of recording it. On October 9th & 10th of 2004, Branca and all the original performers conjoined in NYC's Kaufman Astoria Studios to, in nearly ritual like manner, resurrect that swarm of evil and let it live forever as an audio barrage that makes your "play" button feel like pressing the Red one.
Be ready!
